Showing up at uni for the first time is a big occasion. The last thing you want to do is show up and then realise you've left something essential behind. So, to make sure you hit the ground running, here's out university checklist first year UK.

We're going to breakdown our checklist into a few different sections. Let's get started with some bedroom essentials.


Bedroom Essentials

Let's start off with an obvious one, some stuff for your bedroom. Your room is your space and it's important that you've got everything you need as well as some decoration to make it feel homely.

  1. Bedding (sheets, duvets, pillows)

  2. Mattress protector

  3. Cozy blanket or throw

  4. Clothes Hangers

  5. Laundry Bag

  6. Desk Lamp

  7. Mirror

Kitchen & Dining

When you move off to uni you'll have to take care of your own cooking & cleaning. Here's everything you'll need. Here's some recipes if you need any ideas.

  2. Plates, bowls & glasses

  3. Cooking utensils (spatula, ladle, etc.)

  4. Pots & pans

  5. Can opener

  6. Mug

  7. Water bottle

  8. Food storage containers

Yep, unfortunately you do have to study at university too and you may as well be prepared.

This one's important. Here's a few basic items but make sure you bring everything specific item you need.

Going to uni in the UK you'll typically start around the end of September. This means you're going to need to prepare for some pretty rough weather.

  2. Sportswear

  3. Pyjamas, underwear & socks

  4. Formal attire (for events & interviews)

  5. Loungewear

  6. Coat & Umbrella

  7. Accessories (hats, scarves, etc.)
